China-born, London-based artist Lechen Zheng (b. 2002) works across postmodern photography, edible sculptures, collages, and mixed media. Evolving from surrealist painting to conceptual art, she explores themes of sexuality, fetishism, body memory, and cultural constructs.Food frequently appears in her work as a metaphor for intimacy and queerness, transforming the mundane into unsettling provocations. Alongside contemporary media, she engages in Chinese ink painting through her project “In My Eastern Dreams, My Muse”, where she merges Eastern aesthetics with feminist and queer narratives. Through contrasting materials and forms, Lechen examines the body’s entanglement with desire and sex culture.
